In addition to being an event for friendship, and strengthening the sense of brotherhood, intimacy, and friendship among college alumni, the National Tennis Championships among Alumni of Universities in Indonesia is also a means of proving the achievements of alumni of a university in the field of sports, especially tennis. This year, Yogyakarta State University will host the annual championship which will be held on 8-9 September 2018 at the FIK UNY Indoor Tennis Court. Participated by 14 prestigious universities in Indonesia such as Gajah Mada University (UGM), University of Indonesia (UI), Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), Bogor Agricultural Institute (IPB), Padjadjaran State University (UNPAD), Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS) Surabaya, Indonesian Islamic University (UII), Brawijaya University (UB), and Yogyakarta State University (UNY) as the hosts.

The Tennis Championships among College Alumni are a forum for college alumni to meet in an activity that is sporting and also upholds the value of sportsmanship. In this series of activities, meetings between the management of the Alumni Association of each university were also included as a means of meeting to discuss college alumni and various collaborations carried out to contribute to the progress of the Indonesian nation, said Dr. Abdul Alim as Chair of the Committee and lecturer of the Sports Coaching Education Study Program.
