The Faculty of Sports Science, State University of Yogyakarta has again added another professor in the field of Physical Education and Sports at the Faculty of Sports Science, State University of Yogyakarta. Prof. Dr. Tomoliyus, M.S, a lecturer at the Sports Coaching Education Study Program, FIK UNY, delivered a professor inauguration speech in front of an open meeting of the Yogyakarta State University senate (8/10) in the main courtroom of the UNY rectorate.

"There are several that support the strategy of physical condition training, namely: 1) Good Planning, 2) Competent Trainers, 3) Adequate Facilities and Infrastructure, 4) Implementation of Exercise Programs, 5) Discipline Culture and Learning-Practice, 6) Monitoring and Assessment of the Exercise Process”, said Tomoliyus. Furthermore, Tomoliyus said that in order to achieve optimal performance one must realize the importance of the athlete's physical condition because it is the foundation of technical, tactical, and mental training.

As for becoming an expert trainer for the physical condition of a sport, one must first master the knowledge and skills of the sport. “Recommendations that can be continued regarding the strategy of physical condition training are as follows: 1) It is necessary to continuously improve the quality and quantity of trainers for each sport so that Indonesian sports achievements can compete in the international arena. 2) It is necessary to strengthen the availability of adequate infrastructure for each sport that is fostered. 3) It is necessary to strengthen the cultivation of time discipline, the training process, rest, and eating patterns during study and practice. 4) It is necessary to strengthen, monitor, and evaluate the training process which is done continuously both during training and outside of training”, added Tomoliyus.
