In mid-2017, UNY's Faculty of Sports Science is currently accepting 5 foreign students from the National Taipei University of Nursing and Health Sciences (NTUNHS) Taiwan. While participating in the Summer Internship Program at FIK UNY, all of these students will take part in a lecture program regarding the introduction of material and practice of the Basics of Manipulative Therapy and Sports Therapy accompanied by a massage expert, namely Dr. Ali Satia Graha, M.Kes. and Dr. Bambang Priyonoadi, M.Kes.
Huang Wen Ching, Ph.D., an NTUNHS lecturer expressed his gratitude to FIK UNY for accepting students to take lectures at UNY. In addition, students are expected to have additional knowledge of massage therapy methods which according to him are very new to 'sports science'. In addition to gaining additional competence in academics, the five Taiwanese students from Sports Exercise must be able to accept cultural adaptations in Indonesia. At the end of his remarks, Huang hoped that in the future FIK UNY could be more intensive in collaboration and scientific development. Lin Zheng Hao, one of the students participating in the Internship Program stated that he was very happy to be in Indonesia, especially learning the Manipulative Therapy method at FIK UNY which was very new and needed in handling injuries and relaxation.
Meanwhile, Dr. Or. Mansur, M.S., as Deputy Dean I appreciated NTUHNS for choosing FIK UNY as a sports university in Indonesia to broaden the horizons of its students. Furthermore, Mansur hopes that students will enjoy every lecture and practicum process carried out at the Massage Laboratory and Therapy Clinic, FIK UNY. The Summer Internship program is a follow-up to the 'Memorandum of Understanding' between UNY and NTUNHS. It is planned that all NTUNHS students will join the program from July to mid-August 2017.
