FIK UNY HELP DEVELOP SPORTS IN MAGELANG CITY

This was conveyed by Dr. Or. Mansur, M.S., who is also the Deputy Dean I of FIK UNY at a cooperation meeting between the Faculty of Sports Science of UNY and the Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda) of Magelang City. Furthermore, all aspects of sports that are interrelated in a planned, systematic, integrated, and sustainable manner as a unit which includes regulation, education, training, management, coaching, development, and supervision to achieve national sports goals, this is based on the National Sports System which It is stated in the Law on the Sports System Number 3 of 2015. Mansur added that as a form of commitment to developing sports in Indonesia, the Faculty of Sports Science, State University of Yogyakarta helped develop the potential for sports in Magelang City in the form of collaboration with the Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda). Magelang City.

The meeting began with an explanation of the conditions and potential of sports in Magelang City by a team of FIK UNY experts consisting of Dr. Or. Mansur, M.S., Saryono, M.Or., Yudanto, M.Pd., Komarudin, M.A., and Danang Pujo Broto, M.Or. and continued with a discussion about the 'real' conditions presented by the sports 'stakeholders' in Magelang City. So far, the potential for sports in Magelang City has been hampered by the minimal number of sports facilities and infrastructure and the lack of talent scouting in the city with a population of about 120,000 people. Based on the current conditions and potential for sports in Magelang City, Saryono added that the need for management of facilities (facilities and infrastructure), increasing human resources capabilities and qualifications of trainers, improving the quality of athletes & rankings, management of competitive and attractive competitions or events will be able to increase the development of sports from in terms of achievement, recreation, and education.

The meeting was chaired by the Head of Social Affairs of the Magelang City Bappeda, Agus Satriyo Hariyadi on Tuesday, (18/10) at the Magelang City Bappeda Office, the Head of KONI Magelang City, Dispobudbar, the Camat, the Indonesian Community Recreational Sports Federation (FORMI), and several stakeholders. The city of Magelang sports also provides input and an overview of the potential and constraints of sports in Magelang City. In addition, the results of the discussion that afternoon provided an overview of various conditions, problems, potentials, and strategic issues related to athletes and coaches in Magelang City.
