Students of the Faculty of Sports Science, Yogyakarta State University (FIK UNY) again won an International award through Miya Kurniawati of the 2018 PKO study program. Miya and her teammates participated in the International Intellectual Property, Invention, Innovation and Technology Exposition 2020 (IPITex 2020) which was held in Bangkok, Thailand. This has prompted the Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) of Sleman Regency to "look at" FIK UNY as a partner in developing sports achievements in Sleman Regency and DIY in general.

In preparation for the match against one of the spectacular football teams, Iceland, the All Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) along with four national team players who are currently members of the Indonesia Selection made a friendly visit to the Faculty of Sports Science, UNY. Iceland is spectacular because it is a FIFA Cluster A football team, which is a contestant for this year's World Cup Russia.
